For all family tree print orders, we offer you a free basic data check. As part of this data check, we verify the general suitability of your data for this printing process. This includes checking the file format, number of pages, and appropriate page size in relation to the desired print format.
In addition, we optionally offer a chargeable, professional data check. In addition to the services of the basic data check, we check here whether all fonts are correctly embedded. Furthermore, it is checked whether all elements of the file are in the correct colour space. If necessary, we perform a conversion to the correct colour space. It is also checked whether your print file has the defined minimum resolution of 72 ppi in the final format for poster printing. Additionally, the print template is checked within the scope of a "preflight" for a number of other possible errors (including special/spot colours, transparencies, page rotation, overprinting objects, safety margin to the edge, bleed objects, overflow, hairlines). If corrections are made to the print file by us as part of the professional data check, we will then send you a soft proof by email for approval. The processing time is extended by one working day due to the professional data check.
